December 14, Friday!! Stress, Free Rent in my Spirit!!!
Twelve out from Rehab Center and 11 days before Christmas! There is always something to be thankful for, one just have to look around you, see your plight, look at another’s plight near or far and get a real reality check quickly!
Alarm sounds at 3am, out of the bed I jumped! Rushed into Mother’s room to make sure she was okay and to use the bathroom that way she wanted be tempted to get up while I was at the gym. On the treadmill with my daily newspaper ritual then onto the machine for one hour and a half. Returned home and all was quiet. Went up stairs to my office and completed much overdue work and this gave me great satisfaction for the next couple of hours until my mother awoke at 7 am. To finish up, I suggested she sleep a bit longer and I’d wake her up. Watching mother on the baby monitor, she’d sit up in her bed at 7:30AM and I knew she was wide awake.
Entered her room and she proceeded to exit the bed and I lightly assisted her to the bathroom. After her bath, I gave her all her clothes, etc to put on. Being a very independent lady, she wrestled with both arms, the right yet a bit weak, but she managed to dress herself 80%. Tying her shoes, buttoning her blouse and zipping her skirt are yet a bit difficult because she is right handed…
