December 22, 2018 Saturday “Out with the Old, in With the New”

Today was the day of new transformation from the old to the new. Lots of moving forward have happened to this point. We have come a long day and was thrilled to see so much behind us. Looked forward to this day with great anticipation. And now that this day has come, my sole is truly happy for the time will soon come that all this will be behind us completely, God willing. This day consisted of many firsts for mother since returning home after the rehab center.

As normal, our days always begun with the same ritual of dressings, having breakfast and followed by physical therapy with me. Also, normal here would not be normal without the usual questions of, when can I go home? And of course as you have guessed by now, I gave the usual responses just in different variations. There were a few milestones today to be thankful for.

Since Mother had exhibit that she can walk consistently without assistance, I decided to only use the wheelchair in the car and not indoors. So I moved it into the trunk of my car solely for venturing out. Pushing Mother around the house in the wheelchair took great effort and maneuvering. This elimination gave me more time to spend on more rehabilitating areas of her life and was definitely less work for me.
