December 28, 2018 Saturday “The Surprise Birthday @Junkyard Cafe”
After a beautiful surprise visit with my brother, Charles, and a very restful and joyous night for all, this morning I looked forward to the fact that he came to give Ole and myself a break from caring for Mother.
Charles’s plan was to arrive today and spend lots of time with Mother. Knowing that Ole’s birthday was in a few days and didn’t know to celebrate it, and I thought that Charles’s visit would be the perfect opportunity to share another great moment with two other family members. Life doesn’t get any better than that, especially since I don’t have any siblings living near by.
Hurriedly, I performed our Morning ritual always through therapy with Mother. Note, I never cut short her therapy, as little as I know is better than nothing at all. Dressed and out the door we headed to search for the perfect birthday cake for Ole at the last minute. In Woodland Hills Ralph’s, I knew all the bakery staff and could get anything done for me even at a last minute. No time to go to Woodland Hills so I drove to the closes Ralph’s. Found an oblong beautifully decorated carrot cake and requested to have it engraved, “Happy Birthday Ole, the best husband ever!” The baker complied and informed couldn’t add, “ever”. “No problem” I stated as I ran off…
