January 8, 2019 Tuesday — “A Good Day Erased a Bad Day”

This day was a new day with a new perspective and new expectations! Every day begins with its’ uniqueness. One can make the choice to begin in a good positive space. Seek and you shall find. This morning as I awoke to go to the gym at 4:00 AM, I was delighted when I realized I could go later because my niece was coming to get my Mother for the day giving me some needed free time! After yesterday’s rants, this free time was crucial and totally welcomed.

Mother awoke this morning with an entirely different attitude. She was very pleasant and smiling. Of course, she doesn’t realize what she did yesterday and the magnitude it had on me. My night was semi restless while Mother’s was peaceful. She slept the entire night until early this morning. By the time, she awoke I had accomplished much work and she was very pleasant.

Laughter is good for the soul, no matter what. As Mother looked upon me this morning first thing, she said I was her grandmother. She immediately begun to laugh because clearly that was not the word she wanted to say. The stroke on the left side greatly affected her words formation skills. She kept saying that I was her grandmother, I stated, “I’m your daughter”! Finally, she looked at me and reached out hugging me with tears in her eyes. Saying, “I didn’t know you were my daughter!” She chuckled with a certain amount of relief and joy realizing who I really was. Also, as I prepared her breakfast…
