Now that we were at Mother’s house life had taken on a completely different format or schedule unlike my house. Never knew how Mother would be or react or not react. All was purely trial and error to get Mother accumulated to her home. Only had four days and needed to come up with a plan for her care and therapy. Family support looked a little bleak and disconcerting. Had heard of other families dis-concord during a health crisis or death of a love one, patriarch or matriarch, but never thought my family would appear to fall into this category now during Mother’s rehabilitation process. No matter what, I had chose to do what was necessary for her and her only.
At Mother’s home, as she awoke and got out of her bed, so did I. Wanted to see what she’d do with herself now that she was finally home. As she had always done, she headed toward her den and we bought sat and chatted.
Me: Good Morning Mother.
Mother: I was looking….are you Robert Earl?
Me: No, I’m a girl….
Mother: You Robert Earl?
Me: No, I’m not your brother.
Mother: You Robert Earl’s daughter…
