Dear church, hear my voice.

I sit next to you, my heart aches with pain.

It feels as if the next beat may be my last.

Hear my cry!

I look to my left, you’re jumping up and down.

I look to my right, you’re dozing.

I look forward, no one sees me.

I look behind me,

I am invisible to those that look ahead.

Oh, Church, hear my cry!

Don’t you see me? My pain?

Help! Stop! Look! Listen! Help!

I stay away from church, no one calls.

Sickness in my family, not a call or card,

a word of encouragement, my heart cries out.
