Jason,
Being a man in uniform for 25 years, I am sure you have seen it all and none of this is new too you. I agree with you but every case is so different. Yes, you raise an interesting concept regarding the adrenaline rush clouding one's vision in the best of situation and totally in the worst of situations. When a cop's life is not threatend and I have seen this too often even when the suspect is running away, they get shot in the back and killed not wounded. Is that also part of the training to always shoot to kill? I feel that a lot of white racist cop, see a Black man as some sort of threat just based on skin color and take actions that may not be taken otherwise. From a young girl, have seen how the police taunted my dad with our family in the car, talked to him in a deteragatory manner and gave him summons for no reason for which he had thrown out in court. The best thing my father played the role to save our lives or his life. As a very young girl, I was so angered by what I saw. And today, I see these same cops doing the same thing. It needs to stop and this is one of the reason that Black men are fighting back, most often they fill either way they are dead, so the best thing is die standing up and not on your knees. Thanks for sharing inisight into a wrong gone wild. Be safe and have a good weekend.
