It is horrific to see how dementia robs the person of their life and fear sets in on a daily basis. Yes, I have had to follow my inner guidance for my sanity. Thank God mother is a functiomomg dementia, a blessing from God. She loves to stay busy and a bit chatty but this is the old mother now in this new dementia mind set. Often times, I feel I have to be her brain to keep her fear down. Thanks for sharing, don’t my best not to have any regrets later. God bless you for being there for your aunt.
