How to Curb your Expectations!
“ No one has ever become poor by giving.”
Curbing your expectations will assist you in integrating service in your life. It will allow you to see how easy it is and how good it feels to do something nice for someone without expecting anything in return. Even if the opposite has been a practice, with practice this can change and you’d find yourself overall feeling better about giving and not expecting anything in return. All of us at some points in our lives have given and wanted or had expectations as a result of having given at some point.
Not sure if society has somehow embedded us with expectations and giving are synonymous or are we born with the expectations of some sort. Perhaps our reward system instill these expectations in us early on in school. For example, you get good grades, you are rewarded, thus I give, I get. It could be just that simple in starting. Another example, if I’m a good person, I expect people to like me. Before we realize it, this becomes a part of life.
