How to be happy where you are? If not now, when?

Often a lot of us think we will be happy when or happier when? The only thing wrong with that is that tomorrow is not promised and when may never occur. I used to tell myself I’ll be happy when I reach a certain level of success or acquire certain material goods but when those things happened, I wasn’t there mentally to be happy and extended the cycle onto some other problems, and thus begun an unhappy cycle or continuous uncertain cycle for what should be in the now and not when.

I’ll be happy when I get more money, when I finish college, when I pay my bills, when the kids are grown and out of the house or when my spouse gets a better job, or when I graduate, or when the rain stops, or when I acquire this things, and on and on the stories goes. This list can be endless for many.

As we sit in the spot wishing for happiness when, the clock is ticking and life is passing by and can’t be gotten again, happiness eludes you. Time wasted wishing for something that is in front of you is futile. Life keeps moving forward while you’re…
