Eat Right, Exercise Better!!

New Year’s resolution on the horizon to loose all the weight gained from the holidays, things you must do now!!

Start your day the right way and it will end the right way. My routine consist of giving thanks and prayer each morning before I run out the door to the gym six days a week. On the seventh day, like God I rest!! You can’t go wrong when you follow in the creator’s footsteps.

For years, my exercise teachers would advise the class to eat before working out but I thought that was not necessary especially since I wasn’t hungry that time of the morning. For years, I’d workout on an empty stomach and water. Seem to work fine. One particular instructor kept insisting. Finally, I gave in and felt more energized.

I’d eat a few almonds or a quarter piece of a slice of bread. Don’t do bread anymore. Fast forward to the present, as a fitness teacher, guess what I’m telling my class, “Eat before you come to class for energy!” With me, life comes full circle. Nowadays, I will drink a smoothie, boiled egg or a few almonds. Like American Express, I don’t leave home without food in my stomach for energy and too get my metabolism going.

Think of the body like a car, it cannot run very far on empty or no gas, well neither can the body. At some point, you will loose momentum like a car and come to a full stop. Food is energy and…
