Day 1 new journey with Mother, mini stroke aftermath, mild dementia and I

So thankful she yet knows me, is independent, and has a zest for life!! At 93 years old, it is a blessing to be alive and out pace the stroke and dementia living a fulfilled life and surrounded by much Grace and love from family and friends!

Her house was immaculate and she looked well and very contented!!

Arrived late tuesday night from La, mother and caregiver stayed awake until I arrived! Rented a car and drove to mother’s house from the airport!!Drove in her yard, all was quite until I rang her door bell, inside I could hear mother trying to open the door for me as her caregiver instructed her in the background to be careful and slow down! At 93 years old, mother moves like a twenty year old! As she opened the door and saw my face she started to grin from ear to ear and hugged me with all the life within her and wouldn’t let go for a minute! Then she escorted me into the den and again reached out and hugged me again with all her efforts! The three of us chatted a moment as the caregiver prepared to leave for her home! The house was spotless and mother looked well and happy! Mother joked me about my coveralls with holes in them! Told her they were the style. Chatted a bit more, gave her her meds then off too bed we went! As I prepared for bed sometime after Mother. Unpacked and planned for our next day outing!
