Are You Happy Where You Are!?
“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
Sadly, many people continually postpone their happiness for an indefinite period of time. We don’t purposefully set out to do this, it just slips into our lives. It happens when we start saying and convincing ourselves, “Someday I’ll be happy when.” We tell ourselves we’ll be happy when we get that new house, when we save enough money, when we get another job, when we change careers, when we get married, when we get a promotion, first job and on and on. These are all illusions of our true in the moment reality.
When I was young my mother had seven children and year after year, she’d say, “I’ll be glad when you all get grown and leave this house.” Then as soon as my oldest sister left for college, she cried like a baby and this segment went on and on when each child left home. We tell ourselves that we will be happy when and when, when happens we are still not happy until another when happen and this becomes like an out of control soap opera. I’ll be happy when, I get married, have a baby, when the baby starts to walk, when the baby gets out of the terrible twos, when the baby goes to school, when the baby gets out of school, goes to college and on and on. Years passed and happiness has eluded you and much regret may happen. Also, you’re be happy when you take that special vacation, on vacations things not what…
